Ayurveda is the Vedic wisdom which is true at all the times;past, present and future.

AVACAyurwel

Ayurveda, what we understand today is developed from Atharvaveda but it is also described in Vedic literature as a part of Rigveda. When sages vividly felt that human is becoming slave of senses and soon there will be no discrimination between good and bad, sat and asat. People will be sick mentally and physically. So there must some ways and means to save the health of future generations. So Ayurveda was presented to mankind when Dwapar Yug was about to end.

Sage Bharadwaj learned Ayurveda from Indra and the elucidated to other sages.

Atrey punarvasu's work was then prepared detailed treatise known as Agnivesha Samhita, known today as Charak Samhita which is a commentary by Charak mahrshi.

Ayurveda is described in eight branches

  1. Kayachikitsa-Medicine
  2. Shalya- Surgery
  3. Shalakya (ENT and ophthalmology)
  4. Prasootitantra and Balrog (Gynecology obstetrics and Pediatrics)
  5. Bhootabadha (diseases due to other organisms)
  6. Agad Tantra - Toxicology
  7. Rasayan- Geriatrics
  8. Vajikaran- vitality and progenesis

There are sections in the treatises dedicated to these areas of knowledge. Ayurveda is a complete science of medicine though old in chronology.

Ayurveda literally means knowledge of life or science of life.

Literature which gives knowledge about quality of life and span of life along with the deep knowledge about what is right and what is wrong for the life, is known as Ayurveda.

Ayurveda has lost so much of knowledge in last centuries still, it is capable of supporting life very well.

Basic Objectives of Atyurveda

  1. Preserve the health of healthy individual
  2. Reestablish the health by balancing the disorder state.

Ayurveda is very much strong enough to support us as a health partner.

Ayurveda is trusted and time tested knowledge of life
